Kawther Ramadan
Research Assistant
A graduate of ESL and Journalism from Sheridan College, Kawther Ramadan was chosen as the Valedictorian of the Faculty of Animation, Arts & Design in 2022. She is presently pursuing a Master's degree in Women's and Gender Studies at Carleton University.
Mehmet Oner
Research Assistant
A well-trained journalist, Mehmet Oner has graduated from the Journalism program at Sheridan College in spring 2023. His journalism adventure began 15 years ago, after he completed his studies in Theatre Criticism and Dramaturgy at Istanbul University, Turkey.
Diana Catargiu
Project Lead, Researcher
Diana Catargiu is a professor and academic advisor in the English as a Second Language program at Sheridan College. In addition to teaching, she has experience in language translation and interpreting. Diana is currently working on a collection of short stories.
Nataly Shaheen
Researcher
Nataly Shaheen is a professor in the English as a Second Language program at Sheridan College. She has experience in teaching ESL, English literature and dramatic arts. Nataly is also a writer, and is currently working on a memoir.
Suzanne Soares
Researcher
Suzanne Soares is the Acting Associate Dean for the School of Communication and Literary Studies at Sheridan College. She has experience in teaching, project management and program administration.
Sara Machan
Researcher
Sara Machan is a professor in the English as a Second Language program at Sheridan College. She is a graduate of the Sheridan TESOL Plus program at and has recently completed her Master’s in Applied Linguistics. Sara is also a gifted visual artist. She has created the Stories of Home website banners and the art on the project's promotional materials.
Cheryl Vallender
Researcher
Cheryl Vallender is a professor and coordinator of the Journalism program at Sheridan College. She has a combined English and International Development degree from Guelph University, a postgraduate diploma in Journalism from Sheridan College and her Master's in Education from Brock University.
Claudia Cirip
Researcher
Claudia Cirip is a professor in the English as a Second Language program at Sheridan College. With over two decades of experience in various ESL formats, both in Canada and abroad, she also possesses expertise in generating and proofreading web content.
